Mio Tamayama

Mio Tamayama was born in Tokyo, she was already a member of Nerima Youth Orchestra at the age of nine. She studied Double Bass at the Music High School attached to the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts and Tokyo University of the Arts and at the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz. Since 2018 she teaches with a Lecturer position at the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz. From 2016 to 2021, Mio Tamayama was associate principal Double bassist at Theater Plauen-Zwickau. As of 2021, she is a Vorspieler of the Lower Saxony State Orchestra Hannover.
